We are committed in and to Leipzig, because we love, value, feel comfortable in and owe a lot to this city. Our vision is a lively, liveable and sustainable city.
Leipzig’s citizens have always taken on a lot of responsibility for the wellbeing of the community. Generous founders build museums, libraries, concert halls, churches or hospitals. We feel bound to this tradition.
In our work, we are open for everyone who shares our views and who stands up for humanity, democracy, and transparency. The foundation Stiftung Bürger für Leipzig openly informs about how many donations are given and how they are used.
Whatever the problem may be, we only can solve it together. Together with you, we can achieve even more: donate time, money or ideas.
We care about a lot of topics. Especially, we support childrens’ educational opportunities. We perform a lot of events that bring people together, for example: singing together (Bürgersingen). The top news: We care about to integrate refugees in Leipzig and to reduce prejudice.
Beside social topic, we encourage Leipzig’s citizens to more commitment for public parks. Citizens become sponsor for park benches, so they are kept in good repair.
The foundation is mostly supported by donations by private persons and enterprises. It works independent of governmental and political organisations. Four members in the board and eleven in the foundation council lead the foundation voluntarily.
In the meeting of all founders, they all together decide about the development of the foundation.
